As you may already know, next Sunday is an important day. ( Every Sunday is actually ). We have a little more to do than usual. First, we acknowledge the 10th Anniversary of the Attack on America that occurred in New York, Washington D.C., and in Pennsylvania. There are few of us who were untouched by those tragic events. Let us come together to ask God's blessings on those who perished, those who were left behind to begin a different life, the first responders, and for those who work to create an environment of world peace so things like this don't happen again.
We will also acknowledge the beginning of the new school year for our children, for their secular education as well as their religious education. Gary will celebrate the "Blessing of the Back Packs", which will send our kids off on the RIGHT foot for this school year. PLEASE encourage your student at home, or friend's student to come to church next Sunday to participate in this blessing. ALL ages are encouraged to attend. As we recall our baptismal covenant, we are all charged with supporting our young ones in their lives in church and at home. This is a great way to do it.
To our Sunday school teachers/mentors; Gary will bless us as well, asking God to help us in our endeavors as we instruct our kids in the life of Christ. Please come for this occasion. We try hard, and we know God is with us, but its nice to get a "booster shot" to help us along the way.
Please be reminded that next Sunday there will be only ONE combined service at 10:00AM. Fellowship and goodies to follow. Please bring one of your "specialty tasties" to share.
