Christ Episcopal Church of Newport Parish in Smithfield, Virginia is housed in the oldest church building in Town. For 175 years, Christ Church has been the spiritual home for generations of Christian Smithfield and Isle of Wight residents. With a rich history, a diverse membership, and dedicated staff and volunteers, Christ Episcopal Church remains a strong part of the Smithfield, Va., Isle of Wight, Va. and Hampton Roads, Va. Christian communities.

ABOUT THE STAINED GLASS: Christ Episcopal Church contains six large stained glass windows dating from around 1892. Each depicts a story from the New Testament. The window pictured to the left depicts the story of Jesus raising the daughter of Jairus from the dead.
